Event Overview: Join this two-part interactive learning series led by expert Kelly Lemon, MSN, CNM, WHNP, FACNM, Certified Nurse Midwife and Instructor, WVU School of Medicine, to explore how the SBIRT+ screening tool can improve health outcomes for patients. In session one, participants will learn about SBIRT+ and how to transition to screening as conversation through case examples. In session two, participants will dive deeper into implementation and will discuss what the model looks like in practice. Each session offers its own CE/CME credit. This session is appropriate for clinical providers and non-clinical staff in Community Health Center settings.
The SBIRT+ model was adapted from the “Coercion Toolkit” developed by Dr Carole Warshaw and Erin Tinnon, MSW, LICSW. Dr Warshaw serves as the Director for the National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma & Mental Health and has assisted in content development.
