Our Story

Formed in 1983, the West Virginia Primary Care Association (WVPCA) is a private, non-profit membership association that represents West Virginia Community Health Centers (CHCs). WVPCA is the federally-designated primary care association and health center-controlled network for the state and is the link between federal, state and local entities whose members provide health care for over 30%, or 1 in 3, of our state’s residents.

Our services assist members in providing high quality, cost-effective, accessible health care and address the specific needs of health center leadership, workforce, and boards of directors. Specifically, we offer a wide variety of services targeted toward the needs and infrastructure of community health centers in policy and advocacy, administration and finance, cooperative purchasing, recruitment, workforce and culture, emergency preparedness, information technology, patient engagement, clinical care and performance improvement

Driving Toward a Healthier Future:

The Road to Healthy Kids Starts in Our Schools

This year’s conference will spotlight the power of community partnerships in promoting the health and well-being of children and families across West Virginia. With a strong focus on school-aged youth, sessions will explore innovative approaches to delivering comprehensive, whole-child care through school-based health centers. Attendees will hear from state and regional experts as we examine strategies that strengthen access to primary care, behavioral health, oral health, and care coordination—ensuring students are supported where they learn and grow.

Telehealth & Mobile Health – June 12, 2026

Following the School-Based Health Conference, this one-day event will focus on advancing telehealth and mobile service delivery across care settings. National industry leaders and experts will share best practices, emerging technologies, and real-world solutions to help health centers expand access, improve efficiency, and enhance patient outcomes. Reaching beyond school-based health services to impact community health center operations statewide, the sessions will provide a critical roadmap for telehealth and mobile care leading to healthier communities

WVPCA Leadership Forum

September 13-16, 2026 | Stonewall Jackson Resort

In September 2026, the West Virginia Primary Care Association (WVPCA) will host its annual Leadership Forum, bringing together the largest organized primary care network in West Virginia. WVPCA represents 34 organizations and more than 550 clinical locations serving communities across the Mountain State.

Taking place September 13-16, 2026, at Stonewall Jackson Resort in West Virginia, this year’s Leadership Forum offers an invaluable opportunity for organizations that support the Community Health Center mission. Sponsoring or exhibiting at the forum provides direct access to a broad and diverse group of health center leaders, including CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CMOs, and leaders in Behavioral Health, Quality, Finance, and Workforce/Human Resources.
