The West Virginia Primary Care Association (WVPCA) invites Community Health Center (CHC) staff to attend a three-part webinar series discussing 42 CFR Part 2. This series will be facilitiated by Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP and WVPCA staff.
This event is part of the 42 CFR Series which kicked off on Tuesday, January 15. Registration for the series is available here and closes on January 11 at 5:00 PM.
The Part 2 regulations provide more stringent federal protections than HIPAA, requiring patients to consent in writing to the disclosure of their substance use disorder records for purposes of treatment, payment and health care operations unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies. Patients must also receive notice that their records are protected by Part 2. The learning objectives for this webinar include:
- Identifying the required elements of a Part 2 patient consent form;
- Determining whether records protected by Part 2 may be disclosed without patient consent under an exception; and
- Identifying the required elements of the patient notice requirement.
Please note - access to the recording following this meeting will only be available to those who participate on the call.
This webinar series is intended for Community Health Center (CHC) staff involved in medical records management, including, but not limited to: CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CIOs, CMOs, Behavioral Health and Quality Improvement. This series is not open to non-CHC staff.
