Join the West Virginia Primary Care Association (WVPCA) for a deep dive into the NCQA PCMH Standards and Guidelines. This annual educational event is scheduled for the following dates from 1:00 - 2:15 PM. Office Hours will begin at 1:00 and conclude at 2:00 PM. The series will be presented by Karen Vest-Taubert, Senior Consultant with Comagine Health.

Thursday, June 13 Thursday, July 11 Thursday, August 8
Thursday, June 20 Thursday, July 25 Thursday, August 22
Thursday, June 27 (Office Hours) Thursday, August 1 (Office Hours) Thursday, August 29 (Office Hours)

This 9-part webinar series is separated into two sections, traditional instructional webinars and open-forum office hours. The 6-part webinar series will help prepare you and your PCMH team for the re-designed standards and recognition process; whether your practice is new to recognition, renewing, or transitioning to the 2017 annual process.  Attendees who are preparing for or actively seeking NCQA recognition are strongly encouraged to attend and will be provided with a self-assessment tool that can be utilized in conjunction with the webinar series to document your practice’s gaps, “Mets” and “Not Mets”, as you follow along with the series.  During the series, you will have the opportunity to complete a thorough self-assessment and have a working knowledge of what is needed to close gaps, refine processes, and develop evidence in order to maintain or achieve recognition.  Examples of NCQA-worthy evidence will be provided whenever possible.

During the Office Hour sessions, participants will have the opportunity for peer-to-peer learning from other practices who are recently recognized, renewed, or in the midst of the NCQA recognition process.  Attendees are encouraged to share questions around specific criteria, evidence or specific challenges their practices are experiencing with respect to NCQA recognition in advance or during these calls.

The WVPCA strongly encourages centers to work on PCMH transformation in conjunction with the webinars/office hours.

Please find below an overview of what will be covered during each session in the webinar series:

  •  An introduction to NCQA’s competency-based recognition process
  •  A tutorial on NCQA’s recognition process, and web-based platform known as Q-PASS
  •  A detailed review of the intent, content, and evidence required for each standard
  • An opportunity to ask questions about all things NCQA

During the Series, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the redesigned recognition process for transforming, accelerated and annual submissions;
  • Identify how to customize an approach to recognition based on the respective practices’ strengths; and
  • Recognize opportunities to improve PCMH processes in alignment with the NCQA recognition requirements.

Upon completion of the webinar and office-hours series, attendees will have identified gaps in current NCQA-required processes and reporting capabilities; and if using the self-assessment tool, will have documented action steps for eliminating those gaps.
