Event Overview: Please join Dr. Donn Posner, PhD and Dr. Micheal L. Perlis, PhD for a two-day training on learning and applying the basics of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. CBT-I is now recommended as the first line of treatment for chronic insomnia. CBT-I is a short-term intervention where up to 80% of subjects exhibit a significant treatment response and nearly 40% recover good sleep (remit). CBT-I has also been shown to double response and remission rates to antidepressant therapy in depressed patients and to have similarly good clinical effects in patients with anxiety and to improve the quality of life and activity levels in patients with chronic pain. Taken together, these aspects of CBT-I treatment efficacy suggest that CBT-I should be in the toolbox of every provider.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be adjusting the format of “Help Your Patients Sleep, Learning the Basics of CBT-I” two-day conference, occurring on Thursday and Friday, March 21st – 22nd.
This event’s presenters are no longer able to participate in the event live but have provided access to a recently recorded conference of the same topics and format. In addition to the prior conference recording, Dr. Posner and Dr. Perlis will be joining virtually for several interactive breaks where you’ll be able to ask questions and engage directly as well as to illustrate a mock patient interaction.
If you register to participate on-site in Buckhannon:
  • You can now participate in one of two ways.
    • Travel to the conference venue where the recording of all sessions and a live connection to interactive Q&A sessions featuring Dr. Perlis and Dr. Posner will be provided. This option will still provide an opportunity to engage and network with other conference participants, both in person and virtually.
    • opt to join remotely, ensuring you have a reliable internet connection and space to comfortably participate in two days of content, both recorded and interactive.
  • Conference space and planned meals will still be available for both days.
  • You will still be eligible to receive all available CEs. Full participation includes watching all recorded materials within each day’s scheduled time frame AND participation in all live Q&A sessions throughout each day.
If you register to participate via a virtual connection:
  • You will join the conference as planned from a virtual setting. Please ensure you are set up to now engage with both recorded and live content.
  • You will still be eligible to receive all available CEs. Full participation includes watching all recorded materials within each day’s scheduled time frame AND participation in all live Q&A sessions throughout each day.
**CEs will not be awarded to any attendee who is unable to complete the recorded sessions within the conference timeframe or who fail to connect during all live, virtual conversation/Q&A sessions. **
Additional information, video and live session access links and an adjusted conference schedule will be provided to you prior to the start of the conference.
