This year's annual conference celebrating community health centers "Turning Vision into Reality" will be held Wednesday, August 11 through Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Oglebay Resort and Conference Center in Wheeling, WV.
We open our conference with two popular events on Tuesday, August 10th - the Annual WVPCA Golf Outing and the "Top Shopper" contest! We start bright and early on Wednesday, August 11th with the WVPCA's 3rd Annual Sunrise Walk.
This year's focus is on the growth of the community health center program in West Virginia and nationally. There will be a special session for community health center Board members to help them understand the important role they play in the growth and expansion of our state's community health centers (CLICK HERE for Special CHC Board Member flyer). Sessions will be featured on developing community partnerships, development of a 5-year business plan for a community health center, HR policies, 340b best practices, and much more!
Once again, the WVPCA plans to honor someone who exemplifies excellence in advocacy for access to primary care services by presenting the 2010 Excellence in Health Care award. This award recognizes an individual or a program that has demonstrated leadership to a health center in the fields of governance, management, or project coordination. This year's conference will also introduce the 2010 Healthcare Legacy award. This award will recognize community health center leaders who have provided twenty years of extraordinary service, commitment and innovation to assure the delivery of primary health care to West Virginians. It will acknowledge our champions who have dedicated themselves to assuring primary and preventative care to the state's most needy communities.
